POINT FRAMEWORK PLAN
Preparation of urban design framework for the development of a strategic precinct within the Durban core. The project focussed on establishing a framework for the development of a mixed use waterfront precinct including canals, marinas etc. Iyer Rothaug performed the role of lead consultants in preparing the framework plan.
 
MT.MORIAH URBAN DESIGN FRAMEWORK
Mt. Moriah is a greenfield area located within the northern sector of the DMR. It is well located and presents a unique opportunity for infill and densification. The project, conceptualised by the practice, involved establishing a spatial framework and detail urban design and architectural guidelines for the development of the area. It is intended that the framework serves as a guide for the ongoing incremental development of the area by a range of developers to ensure that a greater level of complexity is created.
 
MT.MORIAH ACTIVITY SPINE
A unique project involving the forward planning and design of a potential activity spine. This project involves creating a detail urban design plan for the main street within Mt.Moriah which is approximately 2 km in length.
 
DARNALL URBAN DESIGN PROPOSALS
Darnall is an agricultural village north of Durban. The project involved establishing a preliminary urban design layout for the development of a central node.
 
SYPHON DAM - URBAN DESIGN FRAMEWORK
The Syphon Dam area is located in the northern part of Tongaat. The project included establishing an urban design framework that would accommodate a range of housing developments. A key aspect of the project approach has been the incorporation of the existing agricultural settlements within a framework that acknowledges the long term potentials of the study area as well as the unique landscape qualities within the study area
 
INANDA - OHLANGE TOWN CENTRE
Emanating from the Integrated Development Framework and subsequent proposals on the Inanda activity system, the project is intended to provide, within the context of rapidly growing urban communities, an urban design framework for the establishment of a local towncentre. Established on the basis of integral community involvement, the guidelines are intended to encourage the development of a focal point representing the particular local identity and providing the necessary community amenities
